New Day

a half moon
hides behind a veil
of hazy pre-dawn clouds -

the night
not yet ready
to cede power
to the day -

its strength wanes
as the birdsongs rise,
the sky purples
ahead of the sun's
fiery entrance;

night becomes
a hazy memory
in the blaze
of a new day

Rushing Experience

my feet
will find the ground
in time,

experience
cannot be rushed,

it must unfold
