Leaving the Arena

bright lights,
rapid movement,
a large crowd,
a constant bombardment of noise;

waves of sound
slam into delicate ears,
eyes are pulled
in every direction,
the senses overwhelmed
with stimulation;

it ends

and we are left
with the peace
of silence
