the mirror
is the best measuring stick
when held up
to the standard of your mind;
you have no cause
to compare to some other -
you are not them,
they are not you -
you have set your own standards,
go meet them,
be honest in your reckoning
and so live
your best life

what do you see
when staring into the black,
is it a void
or endless possibility;

what do you find
in its textures and contours,
impediments
or your way;

do you remain lost
in its totality,
or is its anonymity
how you find yourself

The Target Draws the Arrow

ride on,
keep seeking,
stay vigilant,
eyes open;
the target draws the arrow;

your path opens up before you,
keep your feet moving,
your destination
is this moment,
where else would you rather be;
the target draws the arrow;

open yourself
to the potential
of your path,
you are more,
you will get there;
