Nature's light shows
dim the glow
of fireworks;

they shine brighter
than any man-made light;

we can't help
but try to compete -
we are wired to win -

why not sit back
and enjoy the show

June Rain

cleansing burst of rain
saltless tears, different pain -
         Nature's soul empties

Snowfall

white flakes
drifting
through the yellow glow
of a solitary streetlight,
all is calm;

this peaceful scene
draws the eye,
time falls away
as the mind
is left free
to dance
where it may

all feels pure
the world takes a breath,
it connects
with nature
