Tomorrow

a brilliant pink sunset
fires up the sky
blackening the trees
it brings forth
the mysteries of the night -
the questions
that lie in its darkness;

have you earned this
celebration of the day,
have you put in the effort needed -
done the good works -
to earn a peaceful night
and the light of tomorrow

Living

what tomorrow holds,
we know not;
adventure, sorrow, joy, fear,
all possible,
all probable,
all to be accepted with equanimity -
the world will keep coming
in constant waves;
it is inevitable,
each moment will pass
replaced in an instant
by another
in a continuous cycle of mystery -

throughout this tumult,
go easy
