Fall

Fall arrived on the back
of a gray rainstorm;
the air was stripped
of its warm thickness
becoming crisp and lean;
its bite a welcome relief
from a Summer
that lingered too long;

Winter is on the horizon,

for now
we'll enjoy the clarity
of Fall
